Cricket
There is a strong tradition in cricket in Sandford with several provincial and international cricketers produced over the years. We take great pride in following our esteemed cricketers continuing their cricketing paths after their time in Sandford, most notably, current Irish Senior Men’s International, Harry Tector.
Cricket is played by both boys and girls with teams at all age groups; Senior, Junior, Form 2 and Form 1 for both beginners and more advanced cricketers. Training takes place in school, where we have two cricket nets and the use of the grass and hockey pitch. Our coaches have a wealth of knowledge in coaching and playing cricket.
Head of both boys’ and girls’ cricket have international playing and coaching experience and in addition have strong ties to local clubs, in particular Railway Union and Pembroke cricket
