Music Lessons
At Sandford Park School, we believe in the transformative power of music education. Our instrumental lessons are an integral part of our programme, offering students the opportunity to explore and develop their musical talents.
Lessons are scheduled during the school day on a rotating basis to minimise disruption to academic subjects. Each student receives a dedicated 40-minute lesson almost every week, totalling 30 lessons per school year.
Our experienced music teachers provide tuition in a variety of instruments and genres, including piano, voice, drums, rock guitar, classical guitar, bass guitar, flute, violin, viola, clarinet, and saxophone. For added convenience, lessons can be arranged before or after school hours in certain cases.
For more information on instrumental lessons, including enrolment procedures and fees, please consult our Music Department Instrumental Lessons, Choirs and Ensembles Booklet. Whether your child is a beginner or an advanced musician, Sandford Park School is dedicated to nurturing their musical passion and fostering their artistic development.
Music Scholarships
Sandford Park School’s music scholarship programme is open to students coming into Form One, and is awarded at the discretion of the Board of Governors.
The scholarship may be offered to a student from any musical tradition who is deemed to have the potential to make a significant contribution to the musical life of the school.
Scholarships will be awarded for full or partial remission of the general school tuition fees. Fees for individual instrumental lessons will not be included. Once a scholarship has been awarded, it will be reviewed annually by the school’s Music Department. This review will be based upon the progress made by the student and on their participation in the musical life of the school. For more information regarding our Music Scholarship programme and application process please see Music Scholarship Entry Form & Information Booklet.
