Student Support
One of the School’s most significant features is its reputation for providing excellent pastoral care (or student support) for students. As a co-educational school, we strive to develop a positive community spirit as well as focusing on the needs of each individual student so that he or she can acquire the self-confidence and personal attributes to succeed in all walks of life.
The Student Support team consists of:
- The Form Teacher: meets their class at daily registration and is the parents/guardians first point of contact should they have a concern. This care role involves looking after students’ progress: personal, social and academic. Where possible, students remain in the care of their form teacher from Form I to Form VI. The Form Teacher will liaise with other members of the Pastoral Care team if and when issues arise.
- The Year Head: each year group has a designated Year Head who together with the Form Teacher has responsibility for the welfare of the students in their year group.
- The TY Coordinator: they act as the Year Head for this group.
- The Guidance Counsellor: has a pivotal role to play in our school. The aim is to assist all student in their holistic development while providing educational, vocational, and personal guidance.
- The Additional Education Needs Coordinator and AEN team meet with individual students to assess their specific educational needs and put in place any additional supports for that student in consultation with their parent/guardian.
